One example of imagery is on page 74 where it says "Immense, it stood with shaggy hair, its giant domed head swaying, its great tusks curved toward the dogs." this is important because it tells what the mammoth looks like that russel must kill.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery is the thick Fog. It is important because at the end of the chapter the book says that Russel is the fog. It says that because that was his point of view.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery is The mammoths tusks thrashed in angry arcs and giand feet trampled on the ground. Another example of imagery is ... Sang of the wind that brought his dogs.... and those are tehe 2 examples of imagery.
ReplyDeleteGreat graysides twitching, they stood like shadows, with heads and heavy triangular jaws. This is an important piece of imagery because it describes how the dogs are going to look like in the future.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery would be when it says, "As the man grabbed the long killing-lance and jumped from the ivory and bone sled, the wind blew off his parka hood and Russel saw the man's face and knew it." This is important because the man was a very big part of the dream and he was a mystery. But Russel felt that he was familier. So this is when you finally find out it is his future self. This is EXTREMELY important because this could simbolize his futur and he is about to fight a woolly mammoth!Uh-oh!! :(
ReplyDeleteThere are many examples of imagery in the chapter, and one of them is when the text says: "...the red eyes tore through the fog like a demon's from the Below World." This shows how deadly the mammoth looked, and also how scary.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery is on page 71 where it says,"There were swirls of fog like steam off the water in the ice leads; thick fog, heavy fog..." This is important because at the end of the Chapter it says,"Russel knew it all because he knew them all. He was the man and he was the dream. He was the fog."
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagry in chapter 7 was, "The small trunk whipped back and forth in anger and the red eyes tore through the fog like a demon's from the Below World." This is important because it shows that the mammoth (beast) is really angry and means to kill future Russel and his dogs.
ReplyDeleteAn example of imagery is where it says, "...but all of bone and ivory, with large rib bones for the runners, and lashed with yellow raw hide. It shown yellow-white and rich in the night light, the color deep and alive..."
ReplyDeleteThis is described with many details, and lets you picture exactly what the bone sled looked like, even in "the night light".
One example of imagery from the text is, "... the man was standing near the doorway in a parka. The parka was deerskin and he held a long spear with some form of black stone point, chipped black stone that was deep and shining dark." This is important because this helps your visualize the man Russel is talking about for a lot of the chapter. This man is also Russel when he is older.
ReplyDeleteAn example of imagery in chapter 7 is ,"Great gray sides twitching, they stood like shadows, with wide heads and heavy triangular jaws." This is important because Russel learns what his future dogs will most likely look like.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery is, "The were swirls of fog like steam off the water in ice leads...I think this is important because I shows the setting. By the way the fog looks to him and that there was fog.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagery in the chapter was, "There were swirls of fog like steam off the water in the ice leads; thick fog, heavy fog, that could start to clear and close again, then clear a little more until finally could see, could see, could see..." This shows how heavy and big the fog was and this was all throughout the chapter and later it says that Russel is actually the fog he thinks.
ReplyDeleteAn example of imagery is the thick fog as morse7 said because Russel was entering the dream and so it was foggy and Russel could not see.
ReplyDeleteAn example of imagery is "Thick fog, heavy fog... He was the fog." This is important because it shows Russels place where he saw the dream unfold, and that shows Russels point of veiw.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Morse27 because they had the same quote as me which was on page 74 where it says "Immense, it stood with shaggy hair, its giant domed head swaying, its hreat tusks curved toward the dogs." This quote shows the Mammoth Russle is going to kill, the Mammoth seems like a giant, tall and bold creature this is my example of imagery.
ReplyDelete"The lance entered like light, like a beam of light shot into the mammoth and when there should have been death the animal instead wheeled and heaved in a great circle, caught the dogs and threw two of them in the air." I thought that was a good use of imagery because I can imagine like a beam of sun striking the mammaoth and killing it.
ReplyDeletethere were swirls of fog the dream represents confusion.
ReplyDeleteI think a good example of imagery in Chapter 7 is the fog. I can say the fog sets part of the mood. Usually its a dreary day when foggy, so this can show, dreary, suspense, sad or fear. In this case mostly fear and scared.
ReplyDeleteI think a good example of imagery its "There were swirls of foglike steam of waterin the ice leads think fog..." this show the thikness of the fog and how heavy the fog was. Also throught the chapter Russel starts to think he is the fog. Finally Russel discovers that he is the fog and the other things in the dream!
ReplyDeletea example of imagery is "it shone yellow- white and rich in the night light, the color deep and alive...." This is important because it is describing the sled and Russle rides on dogsleds. And if it was not for the dogs and the sled alot would not have happend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with morse 11 i thought the fog set a very erie tone. and i thought that really told the veiwer what the author was trying to get across.
ReplyDeleteOne example of imagrey in chapter 7 is... "There were thick swirls of fog like steam off the water in the ice leads; thick fog, heavy fog, that would start to clear and close again, then clear a little more untill he could see, could see, could see..." This is important because it shows that maybe he is a little confused about where he is and where he is supposed to be. It is a lso kind of suspensful because it makes you wonder what he is going to see!
ReplyDeletei chose the quote morse 27 used because it shows great imagery of the mammoth in all its dangers and majesticness.
ReplyDeleteA good example of imagery is the dogs and the information the author told us about them how they were not like any of the other dogs Russell has seen and i think that is a great example of imagery
ReplyDeleteI think a good eample of imagrey in chapter 7 is when 'older' Russel hunts and kills the wooly mammoth. This is important because it shows Russel's strength and bravery.
ReplyDeleteA example of imagery in the chapter was the fog this was important because it show whats happening and at the end of the chapter Russel says he is the fog.
ReplyDeleteI agree wtih Morse11 that the fog is a good example of imagery because it represents a confused and fearful mood.It also shows Russels point of veiw and that he was the fog in the dream
ReplyDeleteI chose the qoute,"Immense, it stood with shaggy hair, it's giant domed head swaying, its great tusks curved toward the dogs."This shows imagery becasue it is describing the mammoth which Russell is supose to kill or defeat. It is important becasue its kinda like a warning or a task that Russell needs to acomplish!!!
ReplyDeleteA good example of imagery in chapter 7 would be when Russel sees his own face on the man that was hunting mammoth, except with a mustach and beard. this is important because it shows that Russel could be up against something like this in the future, when he is older.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of imagery in chapter 7 and one says "One other person was in the skin tent and he couldn't see who it was; it was a man, but he kept back in the shadows and would not come forward". This shows imagery because it tells what the man is doing and it shows mystery in the man. This is also VERY important because at the end of chapter 7, Russel saw who that man was and it was Russel only when he was older. I think that Russel will fight a mammoth and have the dogs go to the places he wants to go without saying anything when he gets older too because his dream was so detailed and he might try to follow that dream to make it come true.
ReplyDeleteOne example from chapter 7 is "The gray dogs put there hair up and ran too the tracks nervously. They wanted to catch the smell but they didn't want to as well. Tthey were still running to the man's mind and he made them follow the tracks but there was fear." This shows that even though there all nervous they keep going showing that russel will have a lot of willpower so he can over come almost any task.
